Advertising in Timora

Banners on the home screen of an app students open every day to check their classes. Show ads to everyone or only to students of selected universities.

Placement

Where ads appear

Top banner

  • A thin strip at the very top of the home screen.
  • One banner is visible; if there are several (up to 5), a different one is shown each time the app is opened.

Central banner

  • A large card in the middle of the home screen.
  • Up to 10 ads take turns in a loop, every 10 seconds by default.

All Timora platforms

  • The iPhone, iPad and Android apps, and the Telegram and VK mini apps.
  • Light and dark themes each get their own image, and iPad gets its own version.

Telegram group chats

  • Once a day the central banner, labelled “Ad” with a “Learn more” button, is posted to group chats where the Timora bot has been added and ads are not turned off.

Image requirements

  • JPG or PNG, up to 12 MB. The image is recompressed to JPEG — no animation or video.
  • Two versions are needed: for the light and the dark theme. Without a dark one, the light image is shown in the dark theme.
  • Separate iPad images are recommended; otherwise the banner looks worse on a wide screen.
  • The image fills the whole slot, corners are rounded, and with a different proportion the edges are cropped — keep important text and the logo at least 5% away from the edges.
  • The app adds the “Ad” label itself: in the top-right corner of the central banner and the bottom-right corner of the top banner — don't put anything important there.
  • Large text that is readable on a phone; no small print or tiny details.

Link

  • One link per banner, https only: a website, a Telegram channel or bot, or a VK community.
  • The linked page must match the banner and the rules below for the whole display period.

Choosing universities

  • Ads can be shown to everyone or only to students of selected universities — for example, in one city.
  • Only the university the student chose in the app is used for this. Personal data is not used to select ads and is not shared with the advertiser.

Statistics

  • Views and clicks are counted for each banner.
  • A view is counted at most once every 30 minutes per person, and a click at most once a minute: screen redraws and repeated taps don't inflate the count.
  • Students can turn ads off in settings — then banners are not shown to them.

Process

How to place an ad

1
Write to us

On Telegram, @timora_support: what you are advertising, the link, the period, which universities and which banners you need.

2
Review

The administration checks the banners, the link and the advertised product or service against the rules and the law.

3
Payment

Price and period are agreed in correspondence. The placement starts after payment.

4
Display and report

The banner appears in all Timora apps. On request we send view and click statistics.

Rules

Advertising rules

We don't place

  • Goods and services prohibited by law, or anything that requires a licence, without one.
  • Alcohol, tobacco, vapes and nicotine products, drugs and psychoactive substances.
  • Gambling, casinos, bookmakers and betting.
  • Weapons, adult content, violence.
  • Pyramid schemes, “easy money”, dubious investments and crypto schemes.
  • Fake documents and certificates, taking exams and tests on a student's behalf.
  • Political and religious campaigning, calls to hatred and discrimination.
  • Deception: false promises, hidden terms, subscriptions without consent.
  • Phishing and malware, pages that pose as Timora, a university or its portal, ask for logins and passwords, or collect personal data without consent.
  • Medicines, medical services and dietary supplements — only with the warnings required by law.

Labelling and the law

  • Ads must comply with the Russian Advertising Law, including the online advertising labelling requirements (Art. 18.1).
  • The advertiser provides the information about itself and the ad needed for labelling, and identifies itself on the banner or on the linked page. Timora adds the “Ad” label to the banner.
  • The advertiser is responsible for the ad's content and for the rights to trademarks, images and texts.

Swapping the linked page

  • The link and the page content may not be changed after review without the administration's approval.
  • If the linked page has been swapped — it leads to another site, redirects to something prohibited or no longer matches the banner — the ad is removed immediately, without warning, and the money is not refunded.

Payment and refunds

  • Money paid for a placement is not refunded — neither in full nor in part.
  • This includes cases where the ad is removed early for breaking these rules, where the advertiser cancels the placement, and where some students have turned ads off.
  • The number of views, clicks, leads and sales is not guaranteed.

Right to refuse

  • The Timora administration may refuse to place any ad without giving reasons.
  • The administration may remove a placed ad at any time if it breaks the rules, the law or students' interests.
  • The rules may change; for placements already paid for, the rules as of the payment date apply, except for legal requirements.
This page is not a public offer. The terms of a specific placement — price, period, banners and universities — are agreed in correspondence with @timora_support. By submitting an ad for placement, the advertiser agrees to these rules.
